My Journey into Yoga

My name is Amanda and I am a yoga and equine therapy instructor. My journey into yoga began through my passion and love for horses. Like many other things in my life, I have horses to thank, for leading me into the wonderful world of this devine, ancient practice. I started yoga as a way to improve my balance, posture, and flexibility in the saddle, hoping it would complement my riding. Encouraged by my trainer at the time, who believed in the power of yoga for riders, I took a step into my very first class when a hot yoga studio opened just around the corner from my workplace.

What started as a practical solution to enhance my physical abilities on horseback quickly evolved into something far more profound. I was initially drawn to the physical benefits—the way my muscles felt stronger, my body more aligned, and my balance improved. But what I hadn’t expected was the deeper, transformative power yoga held. The physical postures were only the very surface of the practice; beneath that, I found an inner peace, a sense of clarity, and a newfound strength I hadn’t known I was missing. It felt like home, every time I would step on my may gave me a sense of tremendous comfort, as if returning to home. This feeling of retuning to home, to find peace regardless of the storms of life, it was something I apparently needed much more than I was aware of at the time. Growing up in a family with different cultures, I moved abroad at a very young age.

Growing up in a family with different cultures, I moved abroad at a very young age. By the time I started practicing yoga, I had moved around and lived in many different countries and continents, an incredible blessing in many ways but also something that more often than not left me with feeling restless and not quite knowing where where I belonged.

By the time I started practicing yoga, I had moved around and lived in many different countries and continents, an incredible blessing in many ways but also something that more often than not left me with feeling restless and not quite knowing where where I belonged.

It didn’t take long before, yoga became more than just a supplement to my riding —it became an essential part of my daily life. I found myself rearranging my schedule, making sure I left work on time to be able to make it to yoga class, and even seeking out new studios and styles of yoga to deepen my practice. What started as something I did for my body quickly turned into something I needed for my heart and soul. I was no longer simply practicing yoga—I was living it.

Yoga became my refuge and in many ways my greatest teacher. It taught me to slow down, to listen more deeply to my body, and to show up for myself with the same care and intention I offered to others. It taught me the power of being still and patient, and the courage to move through life with more gratitude and mindfulness. And through it all, I began to understand that the true magic of yoga lies not in the postures themselves, but in the space they create for inner transformation and peace.

Now, yoga is no longer just a practice; it’s my passion, my purpose, and the heart of my daily life. It has helped me not only improve my riding but also develop resilience, compassion, and a profound connection to my body and mind. Most of all, it has taught me the importance of balance—both on and off the mat.

Today, I am fortunate enough to share this journey with others. I help people discover the incredible healing, strength, and balance that yoga offers, both physically and emotionally as well as spiritually. Whether they come seeking improved flexibility or simply a sense of inner peace, I guide them in finding the transformative power yoga has to offer. It’s a gift I am honored to pass on, as I continue to learn and grow with each breath, both on and off the mat.

Equine Therapy Instructor (Animalia Formación)

As a certified Equine Therapy Instructor, I bridge the transformative healing power of horses with the mindfulness and holistic practices of yoga to nurture physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Horses, with their innate sensitivity, perception and intuitive presence, serve as profound mirrors reflecting our inner world, our energy, our emotions and the often quiet whispers of our heart and soul . Through guided sessions, I help individuals, both children and adults cultivate compassion, love and confidence, enhancing balance—both physically and emotionally—and foster a deep, meaningful connection not only with themselves but also with these extraordinarily beautiful and majestic animals.

My approach is rooted in mindfulness, body awareness, and emotional attunement, creating a safe, supportive and loving space where healing and self-discovery can unfold naturally with kindness and compassion. Whether through groundwork, mounted exercises, equine yoga or simply being in the presence of horses and sharing space with them, each session is designed to bring a state of well- being, harmony and peace all the while encouraging  trust, self-awareness, and personal transformation.

In this journey, the horse becomes more than a companion; the horse becomes a teacher, a healer, and a gateway to deeper self-understanding and acceptance, a path to healing without words a silent conversation woven through movement, trust, and emotion. My goal is to guide individuals toward a state of harmony, resilience, hopefulness and inner strength, allowing them to carry the unconditional love and gentleness from the horses and lessons learned with the help of them, into every aspect of life.
